Hello All! We are printing here at the Genesee Center for Arts in Rochester, NY! People have been coming in and out, music is playing, beer is being passed around, there are 3 Vandercooks in action and fun is being had!

Members and renters from Open Studio are getting together for what they call “Cinco de Printo”! $5 for a full day of printing, fish and sweet potato tacos, margaritas, mariachi music and a piñata!

I am based in Ireland, it is 3rd of May, and I AM printing today – a landscape with four plates in carborundum and drypoint. Going well 🙂

Our Barnsdall Art Center printmaking community will be doing a Plein Aire etching workshop on May 3. We will draw from nature directly on pre-coated zinc plates. The plates will then be etched and printed all in one day. We will then nourish ourselves with pizza!

I’m going to re-initiate my dear Laguna etching press in the small wonderful windowless (but carefully daylight-lit) studio on the beach here in Santa Barbara — start in the afternoon on Saturday and continue on Sunday. I’m part of Los de Abajo Printmaking Collective. We’re currently doing a print residency at SPARK, in Venice California. We’ll be printing at our studio there. Visitors are welcome. SPARC, 685 Venice Blvd., Venice, CA 90291 (Old Venice Police Station) Our studio entrance is at the back of the building. There’s parking available.
