Print Day in May at Artide – Monotype Workshop & Open Studio
In celebration of Print Day in May, the annual international day for printmaking and mark‑making, I am pleased to host a special monotype workshop at my art space Artide / Arti a Tempo Determinato in Vicenza.
Artide – Arts with an Expiration Date is a small artist‑run studio dedicated to fine art printmaking, contemporary printing, engraving, artist’s books, and experimentation. It is an intimate and authentic space conceived as a place for encounter, practice, dialogue, and creative exchange. The studio is housed in a neighborhood building that is already scheduled for demolition due to the High‑Speed Rail (TAV) construction works, a condition that has become an integral part of the project’s identity. Rather than resisting this transformation, Artide embraces its ephemerality, intentionally existing for a limited time to activate and animate an urban space in transition through art, connection, and shared creative practice.
The workshop will provide a hands‑on opportunity to explore monotype techniques and creative expression with ink and paper. Prints made during the session can be shared online as part of the official Print Day in May activities, and eligible to participate in the international contest with prizes offered by event sponsors.
After the workshop, from 6:30 PM, Artide will open its doors for an open studio, inviting visitors to explore the working space, see prints in progress, and share in celebrating this vibrant day dedicated to printmaking.
I am truly proud of actively organizing both online and in‑person Print Day in May events and workshops since 2022, helping ensure that Italy participates fully and creatively in this global celebration of print culture.
