First, what was SUPPOSED to happen:
I have been planning to create a lino block “frame” that would be combined with and ink jet image that was derived from a highly manipulated Polaroid B/W print … I have been exploring using a strong lye solution to “etch” the linoleum … Have done it once to see how it would work and this was to be the second attempt to actually incorporate it into a print. Well … imagine trying to print from THIS:

So, I did end up doing a quick monoprint, playing around with some new acrylic paints and using a small sheet of plexiglass … another direction for future exploration.
