I’m very excited to get to participate in Print Day in May 2019. I have a tiny studio in Western Colorado (there are two of us!) called Atelier Myousa and it seemed like a great opportunity to make some prints I’ve been working on. One of them is a polyester plate lithograph and the other is a letterpress relief plate that I exposed and developed myself; photopolymer relief is completely new to me and this is the first time I’ve made a print with it. I exposed and developed the plate yesterday and did my first test prints of it today. The studio is a bit of a MacGuyver operation with a lot of things held together with baling wire and duct tape, but we do our best and I’m proud of what we make.

Plates!
Setting up for printing. I use a cold laminating machine that has been altered as a big press in combination with sheets of tympan and an offset blanket. The big press is called Constance because she isn’t pretty but she’s always there.
Setting up for the first relief prints on the small press.
The small press is Mercy, because she is indeed a small mercy.
Took more prints than I’d like to share but we got there in the end.
Setting up for the plate lithography
A good day of printing. The two-color print needs more development before I’m ready to make it into an edition but that’s life.

Thank you for such a great event. I’m @themyousa and www.myousa.net
