Hi Fellow Printmakers!
Believe it or not, I started printing around 8am PDT this morning and just closed down my baby press a few minutes ago. I’m sure a few of you know the feeling, so I won’t go into details. Although I got my lovely little used Blick press at Christmas, I still haven’t had the time to work out all the kinks in setting her up–namely, she hop, hop, hops! So…although, the most important thing is that she prints like a dream, as long as I have someone there to hold back her enthusiastic response to being in service to the print goddess–who ALWAYS loves to dance.
Because of the dreaded Corona, my very able and very tall assistant today was my handsome husband, Paul. He held her back, while I printed three very lovely, very colorful Pastel Monotype. These are the second of a triptych of cheeky Cardinal Chicks. I started these at one of Robynn Smith’s, wonderful workshops last year, but ran out of time, and only had time to print the first of the three.
So, today, I am posting number two. Hopefully, LOL, I will have time this summer to print out the third. Those who know me, know that I am working on a series of colorful birds. Hope you enjoy the rest of Print Day in May. Many Thanks to my Wonderful Teacher and Mentor and Friend, Robynn Smith…
