These are my prints and showing my process. I am showing you all how I do my linocut prints. I primarily use linocut relief printmaking techniques. These are quick sketches and carving and prints using my Ellison prestige pro die cutting machine to print at home. I made both of these in our apartment in the kitchen and living room. Mainly because the studio I work out of is shut down and not in use and accessible.
I work in a member studio and use the etching press and lithography press and silkscreen equipment to make my work. But now since the studio is shut down I can’t really do that. So now I am doing linocuts at home.
I have my linocuts online at my website wigginsartwork.com and on social media @wigginsartwork. I also have a podcast called Artists in the wild on anchor.fm/artistsinthewild
These prints are printed on resume paper card stock 90 lb paper. They are blocks that measure about 4 x 6. They are postcard size. I used scraps of paper that I had lying around. I am thinking of trying to do this every day but I am not sure if I will have the supplies. This one particular print, Yall can’t be doing that, is based on the famous Kentucky governor slogan from Andy Breshear telling people what they cannot do during this time of social distancing and COVID 19 pandemic. You can find his daily updates on facebook if you search Governor Andy Breshear. They are 5pm EST Everyday.
