This is what I did for Print Day in May! These are drypoint CD prints of tree blossoms in my backyard. The blue and purple are watercolored thai kozo chine colle.
I was inspired by my failed attempt at photographing the reflection of the blossoms off of a purple CD. I love how the CD turned the clouds pink and the sky a deeper blue. The effect was too enticing to not replicate in print form.
I also experimented with using marbling as a means of creating a similar ethereal effect. I’m really pleased with how the CD embossing holds its own amongst the swirls.
