It’s my second year for Printday in May and I’m more prepared and experienced this year! Last year I found out about it very last minute and felt like I had to do it all in 1 day, both the carving and the printing.
This year I’ve learnt it’s ok to prepare your blocks in advance so you can really have fun on the day itself. So I made the small A6 sized Koi a week or so ago to accompany my big A4 Koi. Market season is about to start for me and I want to move from selling linoprint cards more towards prints. So that’s where the fish come in. I printed a nice batch of both that will at least last me 1 market.
With this done I can focus on my commission project and start my new A4 linoprint project that I want to have done and debute at the Vlaggetjesdag market June 22nd in Scheveningen.
Materials used:
- AKUA intaglio Carbon Black ink
- Speedball Soft brayer

- A6 paper is locally made at a sheltered workplace for people with developmental disabilities: “Papierschepperij de Weesp”
I love the texture and overall quality of this piece!
