Happy Print Day From Gravesend

Hello Everybody,

Wishing everybody a Happy Printing Day! I’ve been learning how to print for two and a half years at the local college in Gravesend, Kent, UK – and it’s great. We do etching, collagraph and lino printing – out of which I probably enjoy lino best. It’s so relaxing to ‘carve’ and I’m getting good results with the actual print quality. It’s also ideal for printing with at home, which is what I did today – this lino print ended up a bit more crazy than I’d planned. Once I’d started to work on the sky, I was enjoying the pattern so much, I didn’t want to cut it away! I think I may put a very light grey wash over the sky, just to separate it from the tree (and the cat). I’ve come across some really nice dye-based water-colours recently and I think these may work well….

Happy Printing!
