Stay Pollaidh, Scottish Highlands, “What goes around”

In my home studio, Black Water Print Studio in the Scottish Highlands, I started the warmish dryish day with raising rain on plywood, I printed a number of backgrounds using woodblock & monotype, which I then over printed with the cut, shaped woodblock of Stac Pollaidh.

We are just moving into spring colours on the mountains, and leaving behind the rusts of leaves and flora, the rust colour ever-present in the rocks is reflected in the collagraphed area. There were a number of outcomes form todays explorations, enjoy printing people.

I am a teacher of over 30 yrs, now semi retired, I have a home studio in the Scottish Highlands, tutoring to local Art Societies and art Groups, working in community projects. My work is explored/combined printmaking, inspired by my highland home and our landscape, seascape, the dramatic land, the derelict crofts and longhouses, iconic ref roofed homes, washed up boats, misty days, dramatic scenery and colours that reflect this land. I have 3 presses and am currently exploring non toxic etching.
