I am delighted to be part of Print Day in May 2026 where printers from around the world share their experiences. Originally from Maui, Hawai`i I now reside in Northern Nevada.

During a visit to Currumbin Sanctuary in Brisbane, AU in December 2025, I took several photos of koalas who I never saw in real life before. My drawings for mokuhanga, Japanese Woodblock Printing, turned out fine with my big concern over registrations and the koala’s expression. I settled on four carvings for five colors. I will probably switch the background color for a closer tie to aboriginal tones and turn up the chroma. But I’m happy with the results for now.
