Victoria Plotnikova is a Ukrainian graphic artist, designer, and educator, born in 1990 in Halych, Ivano-Frankivsk region. She graduated from the Arts Institute of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University in 2012, specializing in Fine Arts and Design. Plotnikova’s creative and scholarly focus lies at the intersection of history and visual art. She is deeply inspired by the artistic heritage of Galicia and the Kingdom of Galicia–Volhynia, as well as the aesthetic traditions of Ukrainian early printed books from the 16th to 18th centuries. In her artistic practice, Victoria specializes in linocut and original graphics. Her work is a contemporary reinterpretation of classical book-printing traditions, where she focuses on the expressiveness of relief printing and the meticulous hand-carving process. By bridging the gap between academic research and graphic art, she breathes new life into historical motifs, exploring the monumental spiritual symbols of the past through a modern graphic lens. As a professional artist and educator, Plotnikova remains dedicated to preserving the continuity of the Ukrainian graphic school while developing her unique visual language.
